Three Fun Recipes to Try with Omega-3 Fish Oil
Here at Omega3 Innovations, we like to mix it up - especially when it comes to taking our omega-3 fish oil. And because our Omega Cure liquid fish oil is ultra fresh and virtually tasteless, it’s easy to get mixing in the kitchen.
Below, you’ll find a few recipes that will give you your daily dose of omega-3 fish oil in meal form. So enjoy!
Omega Curonaise
This recipe is one to try when sailing from Kragerø to Tønsberg in mid-July and you have just bought 5 kg of fresh prawns.
Ingredients:
- 5 kg fresh prawns
- 2 large organic egg yolks, warmed to room temperature
- 3 tablespoons of lemon juice
- 1 pinch white pepper
- 1 teaspoon mustard
- 1 dl Omega Cure, unflavored
- 1 dl extra virgin olive oil
Instructions:
1. Put the yolks, lemon juice, mustard, and pepper into a mixing bowl and whisk until smooth and light.
2. Whisk in the Omega Cure and extra virgin olive oil, adding a few drops at a time. Make sure that the mix is completely smooth before pouring in the next drops of oil.
3. When you have whisked in half of the oil, you can speed up the pouring. When you’ve used all the oil, you'll have your Omega Curonaise. Add some more pepper if you like. Another option is to pour all the ingredients in a blender (use an immersion blender) and mix until the Omega Curonaise has thickened.
4. Peel the fresh prawns and put them on a slice of the best sourdough bread you can find, or make your own. Add the Omega Curonaise, freshly ground pepper, and lemon juice. Garnish with caviar or a bit of lime, if you feel extravagant.

The Superfoods-Meet-Omega-Cure Smoothie
If you are a morning smoothie drinker, try this recipe to get a solid dose of antioxidants from the blueberries and green tea, as well as fulfill your daily Omega Cure needs.
Ingredients:
- 1 cup plain yogurt
- 2 cups frozen blueberries
- ½ cup of green tea
- 1 tablespoon of honey (optional)
- 3 teaspoons of Omega Cure, unflavored
Instructions:
1. Start by steeping your green tea. Preferably, use fresh matcha powder over the teabag variety, since green tea (much like omega-3 fish oil) is better in a fresh, less processed form.
2. In a blender, combine the yogurt, blueberries, and green tea and blend until smooth. Add the honey if you prefer the extra sweetness.
3. Pour the mixture into a tall glass.*
4. Now, with a spoon, stir in the Omega Cure until smooth.
* Note: We do not recommend that you pour the Omega Cure directly into the blender, especially if the blades are hard to clean. For more details, read the "Tips for Mixing with Omega Cure" below.

Anne-Marie’s Dijon and Omega-3 Dressing
Salads provide a wonderful daily dose of vegetables and fruits. But this tangy dressing kicks the ‘healthy’ factor up a notch with a delightful combination of garlic, olive oil, and omega-3 fish oil.
Ingredients:
- 6 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
- 2 tablespoons Omega Cure, unflavored
- 1/3 cup balsamic vinegar
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- 2 cloves crushed garlic
Instructions:
1. In a small bowl, whisk the ingredients together.
2. Add salt & pepper to taste, and enjoy on fresh greens.
Tips for Mixing with Omega Cure
If you enjoyed the recipes above but want to try a few creations of your own, follow these steps:
1. You can experiment with both the flavored and unflavored Omega Cure liquid fish oil. The flavored Omega Cure has a very light citrus flavor, which is hardly noticeable when mixed with other ingredients. Still, in this blog, we recommend using the unflavored Omega Cure, just so you don’t have to worry about competing tastes.
2. The Omega Cure blends most easily with milk-based products, which contain just enough fat to bind the oil. Because the Omega Cure is fish oil, pure and simple, it will float on top of water-based foods. It doesn’t taste bad - but it just won’t look as appetizing.
3. Don’t heat the Omega Cure. That means no cooking, frying, or baking with the oil. When exposed to heat, the Omega Cure will start to oxidize, and smell and taste fishy.
4. Always remember to clean up thoroughly after making foods with Omega Cure. Again, the oil will oxidize over time, so it’s best not to let the blender or mixing bowl go unwashed for later. Clean up straight away - otherwise, you’ll be reminded of the oil’s fish origin.
